Why Challenge ?

Few days back, I was absolutely disgusted with my life.

I have been following my cleansing routine religiously every single day for over a year now advised not just by anyone but medically prescribed by a very experienced and renowned doctor after thorough medical tests but yet again, that very evening an acne broke out … almost right in the middle of my forehead and it is one of the worse place to come on. I just hate it! To make the situation worse, this acne is one of those that takes it’s own sweet time to grow completely into a massive balloon that without a doubt will catch everyone attention and then, will take another week to subside and leave a dark black mark that will take even up to a month to completely rid of.

In last few years, I have experimented with everything starting from home remedies suggested by family members, watching hundreds of YouTubers’ video by gorgeous looking people showcasing their “before” to “now” and eventually, consuming pills and applying creams by doctors.

Only thing that in spite of being recommended by my dad, I have not tried in all these years is to eat “vegetarian” food. He always stated that these acne are only due to the fact that I eat chicken and only chicken day in and out, every single day and it develops some “heat” that causes me acne.

Now since I have tried everything and nothing seems to be ideal solution, I have now decided this very month “December 2018”, I would not eat chicken at all. Being a hardcore chicken fan, I cannot imagine a day without chicken…I just love it…!

Now, I had to choose between chicken and one last effort for an acne free skin… it wasn’t an easy decision … but after a long thought, I opted to be “Vegetarian for a month”.

Lately, I have been reading about benefits of eating vegetarian food and somewhere deep down, I wanted try it but the availability of chicken was just too tempting. Every time, I wanted to eat… I saw chicken.. I simply grasped and very easily ignored the vegetables.

I guess… there could not be any better reason than something you want equally… I am giving up on something that I really love to achieve I really wanted all my life….

In my entire life, I have only once kept myself away from eating chicken back in 2015 for 9 days for religious reasons and those days were struggle, I just could not eat anything and the 10th day, as you can imagine, I was all over the chicken.

I am extremely sure, it is going to extremely and dauntingly challenging and hopefully, I will manage to stay Veg for a month. Though considering my last chicken-less experience, I myself doubt the success. I have decided to record my journey through this journal to look back one fine day at my journey. So, today is the 30th Nov, my last evening to have chicken as my meal until hopefully 1st Jan 2019. I will think of something really delicious to eat… chicken of course!

Wish me luck for Day 1 for a what I call it “My 31 Days Veg Challenge”
